Bit of a different blog post today guys…my first ever product review on this blog! The lovely people over at BrainZyme sent me some of their products to review a couple of months ago. They do a range of products but the ones I received were packs of ‘brainzyme original’ and ‘brainzyme professional’ supplements. Since receiving them, I’ve tried both of these products so thought I’d sit down and, as promised, review them on my blog today!
Before I start the review, I’d just like to say that the people over at BrainZyme were very accommodating, friendly and willing to answer any questions I had – including the ingredients and whether they would be halal – so thanks guys!
It is essentially a brain food supplement and is the UK’s first Brain Food Supplement Nutritional Cognitive Enhancer (NCE). It’s British manufactured and it’s ingredients are all natural, tested and verified. BrainZyme supplements claim to ‘support clearer thinking’ and ‘improve concentration’, along with several other cognitive effects.
BrainZyme original is the milder of the 2 supplements I received and is designed for general purpose use with regards to studying, whereas BrainZyme professional is the stronger of the two and is designed for high-pressure use with regards to studying and athletics.
The supplements include a multitude of amazing ingredients that are known to enhance and help improve concentration and mental performance such as matcha green tea and choline, as well as many other great vitamins and minerals. It’s made of purely natural ingredients and the supplements are completely vegan, gelatin free, GMO free, gluten free and cruelty free…and for those worried about it being halal – I asked and it is!
The following graphics are from the BrainZyme website and they tell you a little bit more about the main active ingredients in the supplements and what they do…
I will be completely honest here, when BrainZyme initially approached me I definitely was a bit skeptical. I’d never tried any brain supplements before and wasn’t really planning on doing so – it’s not something that had really ever crossed my mind. But I thought I might as well try it.
I was also initially a bit worried about the safety of these supplements because for some reason, the word ‘supplement’ doesn’t really correlate with safety in my mind…I’m not sure why? But after looking through the ingredients of these supplements and discovering that they were all natural, and also the fact that they are british based and comply with british health and safety laws put my mind at ease!
I found that ‘BrainZyme original’ really woke me up, almost immediately and made me feel very alert, awake and ready to be productive. I don’t know the science behind the ingredients so I don’t know if it’s a placebo effect or what, but I definitely did feel an effect in terms of alertness and it was an effect with a really quick onset too.
‘BrainZyme professional’ had a similar effect but it’s effect was much more immediate than ‘BrainZyme original’. I didn’t really notice any effects on my procrastination levels, but then again I am a major procrastinator by nature so I guess some things can’t change!
Although I didn’t see any effect in terms of procrastination, I did notice that when taking this supplement, I was able to complete tasks quicker – for example, I was able to write the majority of a blog post (that is yet to be published!), when on other occasions it can take me a couple of separate sessions to complete a post.
Obviously the effect on different people will be different, but this is just my experience of taking the BrainZyme supplements. If you’re someone who gets quite lethargic when studying, it may be worth trying these supplements to keep your energy and alertness up during a long study session or a late afternoon/evening study session when energy levels can dip!
I hope this has been an interesting read. Let me know if you do end up trying BrainZyme and what you think about them, I’d be interested to know others’ experiences!
